Bunch of Hatcher Passholes

Man do I love snow.  What I love more is snow, high pressure and a stable snowpack.  HYT found some really fun lines this past week and the high pressure has been killer.  We got about 4 inches of light snow mid week, and with a bit of wind, all the tracks were filled in by the weekend.  This update is going to be heavy on content….so enjoy.

We started off the shredfest tagging some lines on Marmot’s  upper west bowl and inside the rock bands. Good snow and filled in pockets of wind buffed goodness.

Saturday and Sunday we switched it up a bit and headed out to the Autobhan area.  It was empty where we skied.  We layed the track, put in first tracks and basked in the sunshine.  First tracks Sunday as well but the CREW was out there.  Full on lower 48 style.  I’ve never seen it like that at Hatcher.  Team Zizu in effect, groups of 10 goat roping up mountain sides.

For now the wind is howling and unlike yesterday where it had little effect at the pass, the wind is definitely transporting snow.  Marmot station is showing gusts in the upper 30′s and Palmer Airport reported gusts upwards of 74 MPH early this morning.  We’ll see how this affects the snowpack.

Pray for snow, stay safe and slay some lines!

Big thanks to JP and Mitchell for the Marmot and Autobahn shots!
