Snowvember?….we’ll see.

Well it looks like we are finally getting some precip.  Don’t quit the Ullr sacrifices just yet, but we are entering a more favorable trend….at least for us skiers and riders. People are amped – Stay calm and give it a bit to build.

There’s a few lows rolling around different regions of the Gulf and Bering Sea.  There’s a decent low predicted to skirt the coast and push into SE throughout the week.  While the low is not going to slam the western Chugach and dump tons of snow, it is our first chance of decent snowfall at higher elevations.

The Kenai and Chugach are currently getting some snowfall, and a mass of cold air over the north slope looks to move down through the interior and actually…believe it or not…provide a cooling trend for SNOW and not RAIN.  This is all subject to change of course, as we live in AK and that’s the way it goes.

There’s rumor of a possible installation of a new webcam and RAWS station somewhere at Hatcher.  If people are actually interested in this, then I would highly suggest you donate a few deniros to our brothers and sisters at the Chugach National Forest Avalance Information Center. (Remember…it’s a rumor)

Keep updating your observations on the forum!
